David Simon, the creator of The Wire and Treme, will be returning to HBO to pen a miniseries about Martin Luther King Jr. Deadline reports that Simon will write the pilot for the series, and he and his Treme co-creator, Eric Overmyer, "will see the entire mini through completion."
The mini-series will be adapted from the Pulitzer Prize winning trilogy of books, America: In The King Years, written by Taylor Branch.
Oprah Winfrey is also attached to the project as a producer.
