In perhaps the most unwelcome surprise party ever, New York comedian Ari Teman returned to his apartment to discover an orgy in progress. According to the New York Post, Teman had rented his flat on Airbnb to David Carter, a man claiming he was in town for a wedding. Instead of the conscientious renter he claimed to be, however, Carter used the apartment to host a party touted as an "XXX FREAK FEST." Teman later discovered Carter's Twitter account, which says that he's a promoter of BBW sex parties (that's "big beautiful women" for readers who have never used the Internet before), proving that it's always best to Google your Airbnb guests.
Upon entering his apartment, Teman told NYPD that he found overturned furniture, bags of condoms, and liquor bottles strewn about his apartment. Carter, for his part, was reportedly quite upset as well—teman told the Post that "This guy had a look of horror on his face." After kicking everyone out, Teman contacted Airbnb, describing the event and the damages. Airbnb, for their part, issued a statement to Gawker saying that they were taking care of the issues and had wired Teman $23,817 in compensation. Even so, Teman says he still wants to move.
