Titanfall
Developer
: Respawn Entertainment
Publisher: Electronic Arts
Genre: First-Person Shooter
Platforms: Xbox One, PC , Xbox 360
Basically: The game is levelling the field for the entire FPS genre. It's perfect for veterans feeling the fatigue of annualized franchise, but intuitive enough to appeal to fans who may not be the greatest at FPS.
Graphics: Beta was played on PC, so straight gorgeous.
Gameplay: Kineticly fast paced in a perfectly balanced way.
Reason To Cop It: You've always dreamed of piloting a Transformer.
Reason to Not Cop It: You're somehow devoted beyond reason to military shooters.
Bottom Line: Game-changer. Cop ASAP

I could have stayed up for another eight hours, called in sick to work, and subsequently had my girlfriend break up with me for cancelling all of our Valentine's Day plans.

Titanfall is the realness and Respawn Entertainment has a sick sense of humor launching the closed beta on February 14. The game has been hyped non-stop since its debut during last year's E3, where it picked up six Best in Show awards. I've been at work all day quietly cursing the fact that I'm not still playing. And here's why.

It's been far too long since I've played a game where I felt like death-fueled nightmare god, and Titanfall made me feel just that. And not just while piloting my Titan, I felt as equally empowered while running up the sides of walls and parkour, donkey-kicking pilots in mid-air.

It's hard to put into editorial terms how incredibly bad ass it feels to tear open the chest of another Titan, pull out the still kicking pilot, and huck him across the map like a meat Hacky Sack. The beta is only offering three modes of game play: Attrition (Team Death Match), Hardpoint Domination (Conquest), and Last Titan Standing (destroy the other team's Titans, everyone starts with one).

Check out the video above for our intital impressions and look forward to the full review incoming.
