Lee Daniels' and Danny Strong's Fox-produced hip-hop influenced TV family drama, Empire has found its lead: TerrenceHoward. This series is sounding promising already—even moreso when to consider that Daniels and Strong are the team behind Lee Daniels' The Butler.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Howard will play record label executive Lucious Lyon, a "charismatic, tough, wise and a superstar in the music industry who oversees Empire Entertainment and is about to take the company public. Raised on the streets, he has never backed away from a fight and will resort to any measures, fair or foul, to defend his beloved Empire."

Hmm. Sounds like rap game Francis Underwood to us.

In other words: We're in.
