Authorities in Spain said they recovered roughly a ton of cocaine after sniffing out an elaborate smuggling ring.

On Monday, the Civil Guard of Spain confirmed that 37 backpacks containing 900 kilos of cocaine—complete with satellite tracking devices and floating drums—were pulled from the waters of Valencia beach.

According to CNN, Spanish authorities suspect the high-class ring had been shuttling cocaine and money from Malaga to Valencia since as early as May. The drug-filled backpacks would be dumped into the water, then two members of the smuggling ring—who resided in a beach-side safe house—would use a boat to track and secure them.

Police seized 72,000 euros, three vehicles, jewelry, luxury watches, phones and computer equipment. A total of five arrests—including the suspects tasked with retrieving the drugs—have been made.
