Last night, a naked man who displayed what authorities described as "superhuman strength" was shot and killed by police in Palm Beach County, Fla. The Palm Beach Post reports that the man was seen walking down the road near Delray Beach, Fla., then inexplicably attacked a 66-year-old ex-NYPD officer. The victim was hospitalized with serious injuries.

After proceeding down the road, the assailant chased another who was walking with his 10-year-old son. He eventually encoutered an 18-year-old man, biting his face until the teen was forced to stab him with a box cutter. The teen also suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.

Deputies attempted to Taser the man, but it didn't stop him. One deputy shot the man one in the torso and twice in the lower body, and he later died at Delray Medical Center.

Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said the man was "obviously delirious on something," adding: "He is a huge guy. He takes a fighting stance. They're trying to get him on the ground. He starts charging them. The Taser did not affect him."

Bradshaw also noted that he was uncertain if the gunshots were fully responsible for the man's death. "There's no way to know if those are the shots that actually killed him, or if he's died from what they called exited delirium. He's obviously on some type of narcotics to make him act like this," he told the Palm Beach Post.
