Interactive Map Flags Rat Sightings at New York City Restaurants

They have to eat, too.

Rats love dining in New York City just as much as humans do, and this map identifies all of the places rats have been seen in the past year and some change as part of an effort to keep rat/human interactions to a minimum.

Using Department of Health restaurant inspection data, Steven Melendez examined all inspections since Jan. 1. 2013, then identified every restaurant cited for evidence of rats and mice for each zip code. He also added restaurants that had C grades and were cited for rodents during their most recent inspection.

Check out the map and prepare to be repulsed. Look at the bright side: at least you know where to avoid.
