Don't let the family friendly tag on Child of Light to dissuade you. Check out this trailer that features the enormous pile of crafting components and an enormous skill tree this colorful take on classic 2D role-playing games that shows it's not just for kids.

While looking very much like an indie title, Child of Light is the product of Ubisoft's very own Ubi-Art Framework division that is able to make the incredible handmade artwork in the trailer come to life. It's the same engine that powered Raymen Legends to make “playable paintings.”

Director Patrick Plourde describes the game as a mix of Limbo and Final Fantasy VI with side scrolling movements and turn-based battles. Child of Light will be the smallest game to come out of Ubisoft in years but looks to be one of the most interesting. Child of Light is set to release on April 30 on PlayStation 3, 4 Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and even Nintendo's Wii U. It'll will only be available digitally for around $14.99.
