Next month, Marvel is yet again relaunching The Punisher solo title, with writer Nathan Edmondson (Who is Jake Ellis?, Dancer) and artist Mitch Gerads (The Activity) handling the creative duties. The Punisher has been keeping a pretty low profile since his last solo series ended in 2012, but you can’t keep Frank Castle down for long. Now Castle has ditched the grimy alleys and gang warfare of New York City for the bright lights of Los Angeles. Unlike Garth Ennis' seminal Punisher MAX series, this volume looks to be set in the mainstream Marvel Universe, so there is always the chance of a superhero crossover or two along the way.

Check out a synopsis of the book and some preview artwork (including an adorable animal variant by Chris Samnee) below:

This February, Frank Castle’s one-man-war on crime continues in an all-new THE PUNISHER #1 – from the explosive creative team of Nathan Edmondson and Mitch Gerads! But not everything is as it appears, and Frank will soon find himself toe-to-toe with a highly trained military strike force known only as the 131! Who are the mysterious 131?
