A man accused of robbing a Kearny, N.J. bank of $3,000 on Christmas Eve gave a Jersey City judge an excellent reason for why he couldn't have committed the crime: He was at home having sex.
"I did not leave my house until 4 o’clock in the afternoon…I was lying in bed with my wife having sex," said 57-year-old Newark resident Donald W. Myer on Monday. Judge Margaret Marley was not amused, setting his bail at $250,000 after telling him "This is very serious. It’s the robbery of a bank."
According to The Jersey Journal, Meyer entered the bank around 9:30 a.m. and slipped a teller a note that read "I have a gun. Don’t be stupid. Count $3,000 and put it in an envelope." The teller's description and a Kearny Police Officer Patrick Sawyer's memory led to Myer being arrested at his home last Friday. He currently faces armed robbery and weapons charges.
