The wait for new Star Wars news has been excruciating for fans, but this rumor from The Wrap should get people’s attention. According to the site, Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, The Master) is being eyed for one of the movie’s lead roles. Apparently his taped audition went so well that the production team is flying him to Los Angeles to meet with director J.J. Abrams in person.

There is no word on who Plemons would possibly play, but it is apparently a coveted main part. A Skywalker perhaps? This rumor has been passed to the site by three different sources, so there might be some real validity here. Plemons fits with the Star Wars tradition of casting young up-and-coming actors in lead roles, as opposed to household names. We’ll have more information on this rumor as it become available.

Star Wars: Episode VII will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
