Back in 2006, writer Grant Morrison revealed that Batman had a long-lost son with Talia al Ghul, named Damian. While he was originally seen as a cheap story gimmick, Damian soon took on the mantle of the new Robin and became one of the most interesting characters in the Batman universe, until his death in 2013.
Now DC Entertainment is immortalizing Damian in a full-length animated movie this spring, titled Son of Batman. The movie stars Jason O’Mara as Batman, Stuart Allen as Damian, Morena Baccarin as Talia, Giancarlo Esposito as Ra's Al Ghul, and Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke. Today, TV Guide debuted the first trailer from the movie, which you can watch in the player above. The movie looks to borrow heavily from Morrison's original comic book run, but with a few plot choices unique to the film, such as the appearance of Deathstroke.
Son of Batman will be out on DVD, Blu Ray and digital download this spring.
