Director James Marsh documents what came to be known as “the artistic crime of the century,” Philippe Petit’s high-wire walk between the Twin Towers in 1974. Playing up the “crime” angle (Petit was arrested for his stunt), this 2008 documentary—which won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at Sundance before walking home with an Oscar—uses a heist film setup to tell Petit’s story.
