Authorities say that a well-liked Chicago teacher was murdered by a hooker during an argument about money. 

On Jan. 18, Alan Filan, 61, was stabbed to death by Alisha Walker, 20, at his Orland Park, Ill. home. Filan and Walker met through and had met at least twice prior to the fatal encounter. Walker reportedly fled the scene after stabbing Filan multiple times.

Walker, who hails from Akron, Ohio, was arrested in Fort Wayne, Ind. on Friday She claimed that she stabbed Filan in self-defense after he threatened her friend. Filan's body was discovered on his kitchen floor after he failed to report to work at Brother Rice High School—where he had reportedly worked at the school for nearly 40 yearslast Tuesday. 

Walker was charged with first-degree murder and extradited back to Illinois.
