No surprise—it looks like The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug is still dominating the post-Christmas box office, even with new films like The Wolf of Wall Street, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, and American Hustle bringing in more competition. According to Deadline, The Hobbit has maintained the number one spot at the box office after The Wolf of Wall Street came close to beating it on Christmas day

As for The Wolf of Wall Street—though Christmas day ticket sales were excellent, in the $9,150,000 range, it's now fallen to the fourth spot at the box office with about $6.6 million earned in the day after Christmas. Sitting at the number two spot, instead, is Disney's new animated film Frozen with $9.1 million earned on Thursday, and at the number three spot is Anchorman 2 with $7.3 million earned on Thursday. American Hustle rounds up the top five with about $6.3 million earned on Thursday.

As Deadline points out, this list will likely change by the end of the weekend as more families and individuals head to the movies in the next few days—but for now, it seems like The Hobbit is the box office winner. Final numbers will be posted when they're made available.
