The company announced Thursday that is has raised $75 million is funding to allow the Oculus Rift to reach store shelves as soon as possible.

Oculus rift is a head-mounted virtual reality peripheral with full stereoscopic 3D high definition displays that could be the biggest boon for gaming in years. Oculus VR has stated that it wants to make its headset affordable at under $300 and developers have been tirelessly working on games and software with an early version of the Rift.

Currently the Oculus Rift is set to release for PC computers sometime in 2014 with possible release of Android soon there after.
