Now that Thor: The Dark World has come and gone, it’s time for Marvel Studios to get fans pumped for its next big screen project, Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Based on writer Ed Brubaker’s run on the Captain America comic book series, The Winter Soldier will see Bucky (Sebastian Stan) return from the dead as a brainwashed assassin out to take down the Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), the Falcon (Anthony Mackie), and even Cap (Chris Evans) himself.

Now Empire has debuted its latest magazine cover featuring Stan, Johansson, and Evans all decked out in their updated Winter Soldier costumes. The first trailer for the film made this project seem a bit darker than Marvel’s standard fare, and now this cover is revealing a less colorful overall look for the film. This muted look matches the gritty tone of Brubaker's original comic, as opposed to the first movie in the series. 

We’ll see if Marvel is ready to go a bit more serious when Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters on April 4, 2013. Check out the cover below:
