Florida Gov. Rick Scott lives with his foot in his mouth.
In his latest ridiculous statement, Scott proclaimed his state "the top travel destination across the world." PolitiFact Florida begged to differ, pointing out that Florida doesn't have shit on France. It's a difficult comparison considering that Florida is a state and France is a country, but that alone makes Scott's quote even more puzzling.
Tourism officials in Florida said their aim is to "beat France" when it comes to tourism, perhaps acknowledging that Scott got a bit ahead of himself when addressing the state's recent pattern of tourism growth. At least he's optimistic.
