David Fincher has been quietly prepping his adaptation of Gillian Flynn's best-selling mystery-thriller novel Gone Girl for a 2014 fall release, and now 20th Century Fox has tweeted out the first photo from the film.
The snapshot shows Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, the main character who must solve his wife's disappearance even as he remains a prime suspect. Rosamund Pike will portray the missing Amy Dunne, while Gillian Flynn herself is handling the screenplay adaptation, which means its safe to assume the film will honor the novel's many twist and turns. Gone Girl hits theaters October 3.
