Damn is it cool to watch Emily Blunt finally get out of a corset and kick some ass. In Edge of Tomorrow (formerly titled All You Need Is Kill), she does just that, alongside Tom Cruise. Directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity and, fun fact, the pilot episode of The O.C.), Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage, an inexperienced soldier caught in a time loop that forces him to relive his final battle in a war against alien forces over and over again. Along the way, he meets Blunt's Rita Vrataski, who trains him to essentially become a human weapon.
Save for the refreshing image of Blunt as a kind of human Transformer, the battle sequences are definitely something you've seen before. However, considering Liman's behind the camera, we wouldn't count it out just yet.
Edge of Tomorrow hits theaters June 6, 2014.
