We've still got a long while before we can expect to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in theaters, but at the very least, we now know how long: The film will officially hit theaters nationwide on July 11, 2014.

In addition to announcing the new release date, 20th Century Fox also released a few new posters, which are all close-ups of apes, including Caesar, in the film.

A sequel to 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the film is set to follow Caesar and the other evolved apes as they are discovered by a band of human survivors of a devastating virus that wiped out mankind a decade prior. Per the synopsis, both humans and apes are able to reach a "fragile peace" before conflict breaks out, and "both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species." So, you know, things are pretty serious.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set to star Andy SerkisGary Oldman, Keri Russell, and Jason Clarke. You can check out the new posters below.
