While Call of Duty: Ghosts was guaranteed to clear a billion dollars in sales, most thought it would take a little longer than 24 hours.
Last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops II cleared the billion-dollar mark in just 15 days last October. Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V crushed a billy in just three days. Activision and Infinity Ward are now reporting that COD: Ghosts has made more than a billion dollars in its first day of sales, making it the most profitable piece of media ever produced.

UPDATE: Activision has clarified that their $1 billion figure is inventory sold to to retailers. This means that stores globally have purchased $1 billion worth of physical inventory, Activision has not yet been paid $1 billion by actual customers.
