For his next project, Robin Thicke is apparently heading behind the camera. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Thicke wrote, directed, and starred in an upcoming short film titled Mercy, which is based on true events following one family and a man who lost his wife to cancer.

Thicke starred in the project as Tom, a "family-oriented" limo driver married to a woman named Cynthia, who is portrayed by Thicke's real-life wife (and former Complex cover girl), Paula Patton. Cynthia is described as a "woman who is plagued by alcohol and drug addiction." The two have a daughter (The Hunger GamesAmandla Stenberg) who is a violinist and former student of Mrs. Cross, who recently succumbed to cancer—her husband, Randall Cross (Robert Patrick) is described as a man "full of regrets" who " cannot sit idly by as he is on the verge of losing his home after his wife succumbs to cancer."

Mercy was reportedly filmed in LA earlier this year, and executive produced by Thicke. It's not clear when it'll be released.
