Say what you will about New Jersey, but the Garden State is about to become the third US state to legalize Internet gambling.

Wannabe gamblers will be able to begin playing in online casinos as of Nov. 26, after a five-day, invite-only ‘soft play’ trial kicks off on Nov. 21. Players will have to be physically located in New Jersey in order to gamble legally, following the leads of Nevada and Delaware. State regulation overseeing Internet gambling is due to kick off on Oct. 21.

The move is largely a bid to invite more business for Atlantic City casinos, which have seen their revenues shrink by more than a third since 2006. Nine of A.C.’s 12 casinos have announced that they’re partnering with established online outlets, like PokerStars and 888 Holdings, for their Internet gambling ventures.
