This map, which made the best of Social Security Administration data, shows the most popular names for boys across the U.S. from 1960 to 2012. When it comes to the most popular names, there isn't much variation. During that span, the name of choice has been either David, Michael or Jacob

David won in 1960, then Michael dominated from 1961 until 1999. Since '99, it's been all about Jacob. You might also notice a common theme that these names share: they're all bibilical names. Because we Americans just love us some religion. Jezebel did note that the name "John" saw an increase in popularity back in 1964, the year after JFK was assassinated.

Feel free to nerd out over every map. Nobody will judge you.
