It's Halloween, which means tis the season for a celebrity costume PR nightmare! First up, is Julianne Hough, who attended a Beverly Hills costume party last night as Crazy Eyes, portrayed by Uzo Aduba, from Orange is the New Black. Ten points for a timely, relevant costume, Ms. Hough. And negative ten thousand for completing it with blackface.
Apparently no one in Julianne's entourage suggested that the jumpsuit, knotty hair, and ID tag with Crazy Eyes in big letters would be enough to get the point across. Since the picture went up, Hough's mentions have been on fire, forcing her to reply: "It certainly was never my intention to be disrespectful or demeaning to anyone in any way. I realize my costume hurt and offended people and I truly apologize," probably tweeted as she threw out her fake sword and dreads for tonight's Michonne costume.
