It looks like just about everyone hated last year's comedy flop Rock of Ages—even its star. In a new interview last night at the American Magazine Media Conference, Alec Baldwin commented on his decision to star in the critically panned film, as well as the current state of the film industry in general. Spoiler alert: He hated Rock of Ages, and he hates most modern films in general.

"Now people’s lives are more interesting than what’s in the theaters," he said to moderator David Remnick at the event, before noting that, 50 years ago, studio executives would have never financed a superhero movie. Now, though..."They only want Spider-Man," Baldwin said. As for Rock of Ages—"It was a complete disaster...a week in you go, 'Oh God, what have I done?'"

Baldwin went on to explain that he took the role because he wanted to work with Tom Cruise and Russell Brand, but the end result was just a "horrible movie."

Well, at least he's honest.
