Yesterday afternoon, a man was killed in a freak Brooklyn accident when a remote control helicopter struck him. An FDNY spokesman told Gothamist that officials rushed to Calvert Vaux Park around 3:14 p.m. following reports of a man who had suffered "severe head trauma."

The Wall Street Journal says that 19-year-old Queens resident Roman Pirozek was flying the toy helicopter when he lost control of it. NBC New York adds that it fell from the sky and sliced the top of his head off.
