This morning, a driver in Queens lost control of his SUV and ended up on the sidewalk outside of IS 73Q in Maspeth where he struck five teenagers. Though the FDNY reports that none of the injuries are life-threatening, they are serious. A spokesman for the NYPD revealed the details of the injuries to Gothamist:

Two 13-year-old girls sustained broken legs and lacerations.

The driver, a 40-year-old man, reportedly lost control of his vehicle while trying to park it. The driver stayed at the scene after the accident, and, according to witnesses, pedestrians helped lift the car off one of the children trapped beneath it.

A police investigation into the incident continues.
