Hold the "sea weed" jokes, folks. Windsor, Ontario resident Jesse Zunti was caught by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol trying to smuggle $40,000 worth of marijuana into the U.S. by taking it underwater and swimming into Michigan with it.

Zunti, 24, was clad in full scuba attire when he was busted in Marine City, Mich. on Tuesday; authorities were just waiting for him to emerge from the water to slap the cuffs on him. They discovered eight pounds of weed inside of a watertight canister that was fastened to a seawall ladder. Border agents received a tip about a swimmer and they confirmed Zunti's presence using surveillance cameras.

Though it's hard to view a drug arrest as a victory for anyone other than the authorities, officials say that Zunti could've been struck by a freighter. Maybe this arrest saved him, in the grand scheme of things.
