If you’re one of the untold numbers of old-school Rare fans that miss the glory days of Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie and others, you may be in luck if you have any interest in the Xbox One. In an interview with Xbox Magazine UK during Gamescom, the developer’s Simon Woodroffe said there was a lot of interest to revive some of the studio’s classic series now that the Kinect is built in.

“We've got an idea for [Perfect Dark]. It would be controller plus Kinect. We've got ideas for most older Rare IP, you won't be surprised to hear,” Woodroffe said. “There's quite a lot of desire to do that, and Viva Pinata, Conker... Banjo's very popular internally, a lot of people want to do stuff with Banjo.”

Given that Rare has been shackled to developed related strictly to Kinect and Xbox Live avatars for the past several years, this comes as somewhat surprising news. As long as the Kinect element isn’t too obtrusive or gimmicky, though, it might be a welcome shift to see a return to Rare form, so to speak. What do you think? Could Joanna Dark, the Pinatas or Bear and Bird fare well in the new generation? Or are the designs a little too dated now? For more info check the link below.
