The indie space is bursting with interesting alternatives to violence, and Gone Home, a “story exploration game” from former Irrational devs The Fullbright Company, looks like one of the more promising on the horizon. This ‘90s period piece has you coming home after spending a year abroad, only to find your family isn't there. What happened to them? What’s going on? You have to find the answers by painstakingly exploring your house, piecing together a narrative from the stories objects tell.
The game hits Steam August 15, but for now check out this trailer.
