"2 Guns" Is Number One

None

This week in box office news: Were the combined forces of Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg enough to combat a shitty title? Yes and no. The Watch the Throne of buddy cop films did come in at number one, but this weekend's slate of films - Smurfs 2, say no more - didn't put up much of a fight. The action comedy's overall haul fell within its expected range with $27.4 million, but with a reported budget of $61 mil, the numbers aren't much to brag about.

In other news, The Wolverine stayed strong at number two with $21.7 million, while the critically and commercially acclaimed The Conjuring has officially exceeded the $100 million mark.
