On Wednesday afternoon, a couple of alert NYPD officers saved a woman who jumped into the East River. Someone saw the 55-year-old mother near the water and called 911; police arrived to find her unconscious and foaming at the mouth and nose. After spotting her lying face down, NYPD Harbor Unit Sgt. Eduardo Dombrovschi (right) and Det. Dylan Johnson (left) jumped into the water and cleared the woman's airway. While she was still in the water, Sgt. Dombrovschi began performing chest compressions.

As of yesterday, the woman was in stable condition and recovering at Beth Israel Hospital.
