He became a household name as one-sixth of the America's favorite group of Friends, but in an interview with People this week, Matthew Perry revealed that he doesn't look back on that decade as fondly as one would assume.

The funnyman disclosed that in between delivering Chandler's endless barrage of one-liners he was secretly battling addictions to both alcohol and prescription pills, as revealed in the issue on stands Friday:

"It was actually a very lonely time for me because I was suffering from alcoholism," Perry said. "It was going on before Friends, but it's a progressive disease."

He goes on to clarify that he was never faded during filming, instead just supremely hungover to a point beyond concealment. He entered rehab twice during the series' run. It's good to hear he's doing better now, but really, take a moment to salute his work ethic. Hungover on set and still able to score an Emmy nomination and a $1,000,000 salary? Better than Charlie Sheen.
