Good news for fans of the cable series Falling Skies: According to The Hollywood Reporter, TNT has opted to renew the show for a fourth season, citing high ratings in both live and DVR viewings.

The Steven Spielberg-produced series has been averaging about 5.8 million viewers this season, which ranks it as cable TV's number one scripted drama series this summer. A 10-episode fourth season should begin airing some time next summer. As for this current season, it's set to wrap up on August 4th.

The series follows a former Boston University professor (portrayed by Noah Wyle) who becomes the second-in-comment of a militia looking to take back the planet after an alien invasion. It also stars Moon Bloodgood, Will Patton, and Drew Roy.
