Earthbound, the classic sci-fi RPG, has finally been ported to North American Wii U Virtual Console.

Nintendo made the announcement via a Nintendo Direct Mini video today. The port for the SNES game was announced back in April for North America. Earthbound will run you $9.99 on the Wii U eShop.

Nintendo also leaked that the original Earthbound strategy guide will be formatted for the Wii U GamePad and will be up for grabs for free on Nintendo's Earthbound site.

"Unfortunately, we haven't figured out how to make scratch-and-sniff technology work on the Internet just yet, though," Nintendo's Bill Trinen said in the video, referencing the extinct scratch-and-sniff technology that came musked on the trading cards that came bundled with the old-school strategy guide.
