Today, 100 cities have scheduled "Justice for Trayvon" rallies to push for civil rights charges to be filed against George Zimmerman. Last Saturday, Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder in the February 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin, who was unarmed. Zimmerman, 29, insists that he shot Martin, 17, in self-defense.
Rallies and vigils outside of federal buildings across the country have been organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network. According to the group, Martin's father will attend the rally in Miami, while his mother and brother will attend the New York City rally.
The public has mobilized to demonstrate their frustration, and they won't let blazing temperatures prevent their message from being heard. You can find each location here.
