TLC Has Ordered a "Breaking Amish" Spinoff Starring the Original Cast

Why?

None

It was confusing enough that TLC's troubled reality-show-that-was-completely-fake, Breaking Amish, was granted a second season, but that's nothing compared to this. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has actually granted the series a spinoff starring the original cast, to be titled Breaking Amish: Brave New World

If you don't recall, Breaking Amish is the show that featured a cast of people claming to be leaving their Amish and Mennonite communities for the first time. The show dropped them smack dab in the middle of Manhattan, and we were promised the best reality show of all time - but shit ended up hitting the fan when it was discovered that they all lied about pretty much everything. Like, everything

The original premise for season two was to send the cast to Florida to experience "more culture shock, financial woes, in-fighting and surprise visits," but the spinoff - which is acting as a "rebranded" season two - will actually feature the group trying to make a fresh start at an ex-Amish community in Sarasota, Florida. Three new women and four new men will also join the cast, but no word on if they'll be lying about everything as well.

Production is slated to begin sometime this spring, and the new series should premiere in late summer.
