Year: 2008

Take a poll asking what's the best computer Apple currently makes, we're sure the MacBook Air (MBA) would rise to the top of the heap. Introduced in 2008 at the Macworld Conference, the MBA came out right before Intel and every computer maker began producing what is now known as Ultrabooks. Light, impossibly thin, and powerful enough to run any application short of After Effects, the MBA has proven to be the model of what a portable computer should be. It's no surprise then that when it was launched, Jobs said every laptop in the company's lineup would follow suit. Hence the recently introduced MacBook Pro with Retina Display that ditched a traditional hard drive and CD drive for flash memory.
