They're just reaching.

Now you've seen it all.

In an horrendously out of touch effort to "connect" with the community, the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn has launched a blasphemous campaign, christening Jesus Christ as the "original hipster." Check out the totally condescending poster, where Jesus is anointed the OG hipster, complete with busted Chucks on under his robes. Did they feel sandals weren't "hipster" enough? Swing and a miss?

Maybe their logic was that Jesus was a long-haired carpenter who wore sandals, which obviously makes him a hipster. On the other hand, maybe there was no logic involved in the planning of this.  Anyway, the underlying message of this mission seems to be that Brooklyn's dirty hipster congregation should go to church, because being agnostic is so 2008.
