This 2007 crime drama is based on real life gangster Frank Lucas, played brilliantly by Denzel Washington. Lucas ran one of the most successful heroin smuggling operations in the world in the 1960s and early 1970s, at the height of the Vietnam War. According to popular legend (and as portrayed in the film itself), he succeeded in getting his dope into the country by hiding it in secret compartments of the coffins of dead US soldiers. Now, that is some cold shit.
