Breathe Easy: Surgeons Save Man's Arms After Home Depot Incident

Thank God.

None

Yesterday, we were shocked and appalled to report about the man who walked into a West Covina, CAHome Depot and began sawing his arms off. He was rushed to the hospital for surgery, and surgeons have managed to save his arms. However, the victim—described as a man in his 50s—has lost too much blood to speak to authorities about the ordeal.

The man, who had no identification on him when he was discovered in a pool of his own blood, walked into the store on Wednesday afternoon and sawed his arms down to the bone before passing out. He was rescued by quick-thinking police officers and off-duty Pasadena Fire Captain Art Hurtado, who created tourniquets to stop the bleeding.

Authorities have made contact with the man's family since he's currently in no condition to talk to them.
