A false tweet sent from the Associated Press' Twitter account sent the Dow Jones Industrials tumbling.

In it, the tweet described explosions at the White House and that President Barack Obama had been injured.

Thankfully, the Dow recovered from slip minutes after 1:30 p.m., when TheAP announced over Twitter that its account had been hacked. Wrote the news organization before disabling its account: "All: The main @AP Twitter account has been hacked, we are working to correct the problem."

According to the Chicago Tribune, the Dow slipped to 14,555 from 14,699 around 1 p.m. By 1:30, the Dow had fully recovered and was hovering around 14,684.
