So this is neat: The New York Public Library is hosting a national poetry contest on Twitter between March 1 and 10.

To participate, all you need to do is register online, then tweet three 140-word poems to @NYPL. Tweet the first about whatever you like, just make sure the latter two focus on books, libraries, reading or how much you love New York. If you win, the library will be so kind as to tweet your winning lines to its 1 million-plus following during National Poetry Month in April—not bad publicity for a budding poet, or a Twitter user in need of some Klout. You'll also receive a stack of poetry books and the distinction of being the first Twitter poet to own Twitter, well, ever.
