She's already starred alongside Jason Bateman in the highest grossing film of 2013 so far, Identity Thief, but it looks like Melissa McCarthy's year is about to get even better. According to Deadline, the actress is set to be offered a coveted lead role opposite Bill Murray in his new film, St. Vincent De Van Nuys

Apparently, this is a role that "all the top comic actresses" were after, so this is a huge deal for McCarthy, whose career has been blowing up lately. Murray is set to star in the film - which is being described as a cross between As Good As It Gets and Silver Linings Playbook - as a "cantankerous train wreck" who takes a the 12-year-old son of his struggling single mother neighbor under his "corrupt" wing. McCarthy would portray the single mother, should the deal be finalized.
