So, it turns out Lindsay Lohan did the smart thing for once and took the prosecution's plea deal instead of going to jail. In court last week, she pleaded no contest to charges of reckless driving and lying to the police.
Rather than risk jail time if the case went to trial, Lohan accepted the prosecutors' offer of 90 days in lockdown rehab. As TMZ points out, a reckless driving conviction has a mandatory 5-day jail sentence, but they're folding that into the 90 days of rehab.
She was also sentenced to 180 days in jail for stealing that jewelry, but the judge stayed her sentence, meaning if she does the rehab and doesn't get in trouble, it will go away.
You'd think Lindsay would be happy about this right? She's not going to jail. But no, her 27th birthday is coming up on July 2, and she was planning a big bash in New York. However, her deal requires that she check into the rehab facility (something she can do in NYC) May 2, so she'll be in lockdown rehab on July 2.
Oh, and she's already been to rehab five times since 2007, but Lohan is apparently telling her friends that she's pissed. She's planning to fly to LA to hang with her pal Charlie Sheen and shoot her guest starring spot on his show Anger Management before she checks in and wants to go to Brazil as well.
“He’s a therapist, and she’ll play a patient who falls in love with him," her awesome lawyer Mark Heller explained to the Post. He also added, "Lindsay is a beautiful young woman who has many pursuers and many boyfriends.” Noted.
