Did the world ask for a sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra? Not so far as any of us can tell, no. And yet.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens in theaters today, letting viewers cheer on their favorite Hasbro toys—The Rock, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, etc. Retaliation is a tough sounding word, lots of harsh consonants. It wasn't the first choice, though. A number of other rough words were floated around while the project came together. These words would have changed the direction of the film dramatically. Just look at the rejected posters.
