Your Hyperlinked Tweets Just Got a Bit Shorter

Down to 117 characters.

Sorry Twitterverse, but if you've got something to say and it comes along with a URL, you'll just have to say it in 117 characters or less.

Twitter first announced the cut back in December, due to a change to its t.co wrapper. The change extended the maximum length of t.co wrapped links from 20 to 22 characters for non-https URLS and from 21 to 23 characters for https URLs, reports Mashable. Put another way, there's less room for you to comment on a link, and starting today, you'll have two fewer characters to do so.
