Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen Trutanich issued a report that highlights the frightening number of daily gin purchases in the city. According to the report, L.A.residents apply to purchase 200 guns per day. The reports is based on letters Trutanich office began sending out at the end of last year reminding gun owners to keep their weapons in safe places and report them if they're lost or stolen.
Trutanich was shocked by the number, and by the fact that 1 percent of the potential buyers were ineligible because of criminal history or mental illness.
